Matt serves as Managing Director – Investment Strategies. Outside work, Sam enjoys spending his time with his wife Kathleen and children, Mack, Lily and Wynn. Prior to that, he spent several years in progressively more senior roles at FlyLine Partners and Carlson Capital.

Prior to that, Sam served as the Senior Portfolio Manager and an Investment Committee member of Crestline Investors, a $15 billion alternative asset manager based in Fort Worth, Texas. Most recently he served as Chief Investment Officer of Fifth River Capital, a value-oriented long/short equity hedge fund.

The majority of his career has been spent managing capital in various capacities for the Bass Family of Texas. Sam has over 20 years of senior investment management experience within alternative investments. He also serves on the firm’s Operational and Investment Committees. He is responsible for portfolio management, sourcing and monitoring investments and themes, and overseeing the research process and team. Sam serves as Deputy Chief Investment Officer at CAZ Investments. Clark is a native Houstonian and spends most of his time outside of work with his wife, Lauren, and two boys, Maddox and Weston. He also became a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) in 2012 and currently serves on the advisory committee for the Texas Alternative Investment Association. in Economics and minor in Business Administration. Prior to that, Clark served as Managing Partner and Co-Portfolio Manager to a NASDAQ traded mutual fund.Ĭlark graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. He most recently served as Senior Investment Advisor and Portfolio Manager to a boutique healthcare focused private equity manager. Christopher previously served as President of the Board of Trustees of Avondale House and President of The Children’s Fund. He has held leadership positions on a variety of charitable boards, including his current role on the board of Elizabeth Ruth’s Home, an organization helping adults with autism. A lifelong Houstonian, he is a former Vice-Chairman of the Deacons and serves on the Finance Committee at Second Baptist Church. He also recently served two terms as a member of the Greater Houston Partnership’s Executive Committee and is a past President of the “C” Club of Houston.Ĭhristopher is a graduate of Texas Tech University where he was honored as a Distinguished Alumni. In 2019, Governor Greg Abbott appointed Christopher to the State of Texas Pension Review Board, where he serves as Chair of the Investments Committee. Prior to starting CAZ Investments in 2001, Christopher served in senior leadership positions with Oppenheimer, Prudential Securities, Lehman Brothers, and Paine Webber.Ĭhristopher is actively involved in public policy and frequently serves as a resource to state and local officials. He is a regular contributor to major media outlets, including CNBC, Fox Business, and Bloomberg. Christopher was recently honored with the Texas Alternative Investments Association’s (TAIA) Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his contribution and sustained support of the industry in Texas. He has more than 30 years of experience investing in both traditional and alternative asset classes.
